Research-based chart. Prices are sourced and dated, not tested by us. This chart compares prices and memory, not speed.

Quick answer

  • On 26 October 2026, every current card on Tom’s Hardware’s tracker sold above its launch price, from 27% above (RX 9070) to 324% above (RTX 5090).
  • The closest to launch price: RX 9070 (+27%), Arc B570 (+32%), RTX 5060 Ti 8GB (+40%).
  • The cheapest memory per gigabyte: Arc B570 ($28.90), RX 9060 XT 16GB ($37.40), RX 9070 ($43.70).

A graphics card list sorted by speed is useful when prices are stable. This year they are not, so this chart sorts by what you can check today: the lowest US price, the launch price, the gap between them and the memory you get per dollar. It leaves out performance on purpose. We did not find one benchmark set that covers all of these cards at the same settings, and a made-up ranking would be worse than none. For head-to-head speed, see our RTX 5060 vs RX 9060 XT comparison and our GPU guide for the memory shortage.

What the chart shows

  • Nothing is near launch price. The smallest gap is 27%. Waiting for a return to list price is a bet on prices falling, and a Tom’s Hardware headline on the tracker page reads “GPU prices keep surging in 2026”.
  • Memory is priced very unevenly. A 16GB RX 9060 XT costs $37.44 per gigabyte, while an 8GB RTX 5060 Ti costs $66.13. Double the memory on the same family of cards can cost surprisingly little extra per gigabyte, and in the RX 9060 XT’s case it is $140 for the extra 8GB.
  • The mid-range took the biggest percentage hits. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (78%), RX 9060 XT 16GB (72%) and RTX 5050 (68%) sit furthest above launch price, outside the RTX 5090.
  • The RTX 5090 figure is an outlier. The tracker lists $8,477. A related Tom’s Hardware headline said the card cost at least $5,000, but it was undated, so we cannot say which figure is newer. The two do not match, so treat the top-end price as unstable.

How to use the chart

If you…Look at
Have a fixed budget for the whole PCThe lowest-price column. Subtract the rest of the PC (about $720 in our budget gaming PC build) from your total to see which cards fit.
Want the most memory for the moneyThe price-per-GB column. Check that the extra memory comes with a card fast enough to use it.
Hate paying above listThe percent column. A smaller premium does not mean a cheap card, only a card that rose less.
Are choosing between two cardsThe dollar column for the gap, then a head-to-head such as RTX 5060 vs RX 9060 XT.
